FIX: Android Wifi saved and secured, but failed authentication

Well i tried everything i found on google but nothing worked except one. Here is a list of the things i've tried but DIDNT WORK but maybe they will work on your device:

  1. turn-off then turning on again, then connect (of course, that's the first thing anyone would do)
  2. forget, then reconnect to the wifi
  3. click "always" in the "keep wifi on during sleep"
  4. unchecking "avoid poor connections"
  5. using *#0011# (saw this 'fix' almost in every link i clicked but nothing actually happened)
  6. changing the ip address
  7. using x-plore to change permissions in the /system/etc/dhcpcd. here, your phone needs to be rooted. click the dhcpcd long enough until the options show. you will see there "permission" then check all the options under "execute" which are user, group, and others then save
  8. use apps like wifi fixer, etc.
Now, the one and only thing that WORKED for me:
  1. go to SETTINGS>WIFI
  2. click the "+" symbol to add a network manually
  3. enter the SSID of the network (it's the name of the network/wifi that appears when you scan for networks)
  4. click on security options (this usually appears below the SSID, e.g. "secured with WPA/WPA2; if you dont see it click on the wifi you want to connect to you will see it there)
  5. enter the password
  6. click save
  7. at first you will see no progress, it still show "saved, secured"
  8. click on the network/SSID that you see on the screen then select connect
  9. "saved, secured" will be replaced by "connecting..." then "authenticating.." or something like that
That's it! your phone is now connected to the wifi! :D

I hope it will work on you as it did on me. :)
